The Department of Archaeology, Classics and Egyptology at the University of Liverpool is pleased to announce the Rankin PhD Studentship for 2025. This fees-only award supports one outstanding postgraduate student pursuing a PhD in Egyptology, commencing October 2025.

The award covers full university tuition fees (£5,006 for 2025/26) for 3 years full-time. Eligible candidates must be UK home students holding a First-Class Master's degree or equivalent.

• UK Residency: Must qualify as a UK Home student for tuition fee purposes
• Academic Qualification: First-Class Master's degree in a relevant subject, or equivalent expected by October 2025
• No Concurrent Funding: Must not hold any other doctoral funding or studentships at time of award
• PhD Admission: Must be admitted or simultaneously applying to the PhD in Egyptology at Liverpool
• Research Proposal: Must have a clearly defined proposal in the field of Egyptology
• Supervisory Agreement: An agreed supervisory team at the university must be in place
